Instructions
How to Make a Red Pepper Bow
On a cutting board with a sharp knife, slice a large red pepper in half. Create the parts of a bow by cutting two teardrop shapes from the top and two rectangles with pointed ends from the bottom. Set aside.
How to Make a Hummus Wreath
Spoon the hummus onto a round platter in a circular pattern. Place a small bowl in the center of your wreath to help form the entire wreath, then remove it once shaped.
Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth and shape the wreath.
Sprinkle parsley evenly across the top of wreath.
Arrange sliced tomatoes around the wreath, leaving a space at the bottom for the bow. Place the red pepper bow at the base as shown in photo. Sprinkle parmesan on top. Serve and enjoy.
Notes
This recipe calls for 32 ounces of hummus which equals 64 tablespoons. If each guest eats 4 tablespoons of dip, that equals 16 total servings. If you're offering more than one appetizer, count on getting more servings from this dip.
Use a round plate or platter to shape your hummus evenly.
Make sure to place a small bowl in the middle of the hummus to help shape the wreath. Take it away after it is shaped in a circle.
Chill the hummus for 15 to 20 minutes before decorating if it’s too soft.
Cut the pepper bow ahead of time and store it in the fridge.
Add olive oil on top right before serving for shine and flavor.
Store this hummus wreath in an airtight container like a zip-lock bag in your refrigerator for up to 3 days.
