Get the Scoop!

  1. Easy and Quick to Make: Just 3 simple ingredients and 10 minutes in the oven.
  2. Irresistibly Gooey and Sweet: The perfect melty mix of chocolate, butterscotch, and toasted marshmallows goes beyond the standard s’mores dip recipe.
  3. No Campfire Required: This no-hassle dessert can be made right in your kitchen and served warm in a cast iron skillet.

This is the best indoor s’mores around because it has a secret ingredient…butterscotch morsels. The addition of butterscotch sets it apart from other skillet s’mores and puts the flavor over the top!

I like to serve this easy dessert dip at parties with other chocolate desserts like Hot Cocoa Dip and Brownie Batter Dip. All three of these recipes can be made ahead in 10 minutes, which makes entertaining a breeze. 😊

Debi’s Dip Tips

  1. Use a 12-inch cast iron skillet or oven proof baking dish for even heat distribution and easy oven-to-table serving.
  2. Don’t leave the marshmallows unattended under the broiler, they toast quickly and can burn in seconds.
  3. Serve the chocolate right away to enjoy the melty texture at its best.
  4. If you want extra gooey marshmallows, cover loosely with foil after baking to keep warm.

Recipe FAQ

Can I make s’mores dip ahead of time?
You can prep the layers in the skillet ahead, but add marshmallows just before baking to keep them fresh and fluffy.

What if I don’t have a cast iron skillet?
Use any oven-safe dish like a glass or ceramic baking dish. Just adjust baking times slightly if needed.

Can I use regular-sized marshmallows?
Mini marshmallows work best for even melting and toasting, but regular ones can be used if desired.

Storage Guide

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave until warm and melty again. Note that the marshmallows might lose some of their toasted texture when stored, so it’s best enjoyed fresh! Freezing is not recommended.
